Why should I Join?

The Dallas alumnae chapter has something to offer all our sisters. We provide a variety of programs for every interest. Our philanthropic endeavors benefit our community. We provide members with networking opportunities and a social outlet. We participate in fun filled programs and events. We have something for everyone, the only thing we are missing is you.

When and where does the chapter meet?

Our regular meeting date is the 2nd Thursday at 6:30 pm from September to May, in the homes of our members or public locations. The date and time is occasionally changed for special events. Additionally, we celebrate Founders Day jointly with the Mid-Cities and Fort Worth alumnae, and the TCU collegiate chapters on either the 1st or 2nd Sunday in November. At the luncheon, our chapter awards 50-year pins to our members who have been a Sigma Kappa for 50 yrs or more and 25-year pins to our members who have been a Sigma Kappa for 25 yrs or more.

What do the Dallas Alumnae do?

In addition to our monthly meetings, we participate in various philanthropic events such as the Alzheimers Memory walk. We have donated more than $5,000 to the Dallas Alzheimers Association. We also support the Alzheimers A.W.A.R.E. group.

We send delegates to National Convention (held in even numbered years). On the odd numbered years we participate in a regional conference held jointly by all alumnae and collegiate chapters in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

We produce a newsletter in the fall which outlines the programs for the year. This newsletter, along with a membership renewal form is mailed to all alumnae who have previously paid dues to our club, are new to the area within the past year, or have had contact information changes within the past year. We also email the newsletter to all alumnae in the area for whom we have a valid email address and it is posted on this website as well.

We send email updates & Evite meeting reminders to all alumnae for whom we have email addresses. Each member who has paid dues receives the annual directory which includes the names (maiden and married), addresses, telephone, e-mail address and chapter of every alumnae on our geographical directory. The directory includes a cross-reference index by collegiate chapter and by current city of residence so you can easily find a Sigma sister from your college chapter, or in your own neighborhood.

We support our assigned collegiate chapter, Kappa Eta - Texas Christian University, by chaperoning social events and helping with rush.
